Youth & Family Social Action Spring

Join the Romemu community of families this spring for a series of opportunities to do Tikkun Olam – repairing the world. These experiences of meaningful service will create key learning moments for our kids and build connections amongst our families. Come help make the world a better place with us!
Mishloach Manot Packing
Friday, February 14 @ 4-5PM
West End Presbyterian Church (3rd floor)
Geared for children ages 4 and up and their grown ups
This Purim, fulfill the mitzvah of mishloach manot — giving food gifts to friends and the needy. Come pack and decorate these Purim packages with the Romemu community. You can also sign up as a Dorot volunteer to help distribute the mishloach manot to elderly folks in our community!
Each family must bring at least three of each of the following items to donate for the packages (all items must be sealed, non-perishable and kosher certified):
  • Box of tea bags
  • Unsalted nuts
  • Dried fruit
  • Sugar free candy
  • Optional items to bring include: hamantaschen or canned fruit

For B Mitzvah Families
B Mitzvah students (6th and 7th grade) and their grownups are invited to help serve our community by volunteering at Broadway Presbyterian Church’s “Community Table” soup kitchen. Families will have the opportunity to serve this free meal to Romemu’s neighbors. Meet at Famous Famiglia on the south west corner of 111th and Broadway at 5:15pm. We will walk up to the church on 114th & Broadway together. Email to sign up.
Donate Your Chametz Passover Food Drive

Ridding your house of chametz (forbidden Passover foods)? Consider contributing to our food drive as part of your spring cleaning! Drop off donations to the Romemu Center anytime during our working hours or any program or activity (including Shabbat and Seekers). Click here for a list of acceptable food items.

All Romemu families are welcome to help beautify our neighborhood through this Central Park Clean Up! Bring a picnic lunch and stay afterwards with other families for a picnic and a fun activity. Sign the waiver here and email to or bring to the park day-of.
