from Muslim, Jewish and Christian Perspectives

Led by Rev. Eleanor, Rabbi Jill Hammer, and guests Dr. Hussein Rashid and Rebekah Forni

Tonight we explore the topic of “Hospitality” from biblical, theological and social perspectives with speakers from Muslim, Jewish, and Christian traditions, including Dr. Hussein Rashid, Rebekah Forni, and Rabbi Jill Hammer.

Rabbi Jill Hammer, PhD, is the Director of Spiritual Education at the Academy for Jewish Religion, the co-founder of the Kohenet Hebrew Priestess Institute, and a Romemu member. She is the author of seven books, including Sisters at Sinai: New Tales of Biblical Women, The Jewish Book of Days: A Companion for All Seasons, The Omer Calendar of Biblical Women.

Hussein Rashid, PhD, is founder of islamicate, L3C, a consultancy focusing on religious literacy and cultural competency. He works as a contingent faculty member. He engages with various interfaith and community building projects in New York City. His faith and citizenship demand that he create a society with liberty and justice for all. 

Rebekah Forni is a Community Minister at Judson Memorial Church working with the New Sanctuary Coalition to help interfaith congregations become part of the “New Sanctuary Movement.” Rebekah is pursuing ordination in the United Methodist Church and is working on her MDiv at Drew Theological School.

 Our G?d Talk series is an opportunity to explore a theological topic through the multi-faith experiences our diverse community brings to the table. Shabbat dinner is potluck but you MUST register here to tell us what you will bring or contribute $18 and we will purchase food on your behalf:
