For Kids and Parents:

It’s a blessing to have so many next-gens amongst us. It’s also a challenge (that we’re up for!) to foster and protect the spiritual space of our Shabbat services. We ask all parents to take responsibility for their children not disrupting the kavannah (the intention) of the clergy and adults singing and praying together. We encourage families to sit together and the young ones who cannot maintain quiet, respectful participation to take advantage of options outside the sanctuary.

On Friday evenings, we encourage children and youth to stay with their families in the service through Lecha Dodi and then to rejoin for the closing song.

On Shabbat mornings, we encourage children and youth to stay with their families through the priestly blessing and then to rejoin for the closing song.

Get to Know Romemu’s Music!

Romemu is a place where music inspires us to feel and live deeply, to grow more empowered, to connect from the heart, and to be of service in the world. We’re happy to offer resources to help you learn some of our beautiful music. Below, please find recordings of five of our favorite Kabbalat Shabbat songs. Of course, it can also be a powerful experience to come to Romemu services with no prior musical knowledge and let the beautiful service wash over you. We invite you to make your experience entirely your own!
